This comes on the heels of Toshiba&#8217;s announcement to end the format, thus ending the great high definition optical media war. Blank Blu ray media runs about the same price as a new Blu ray movie. If you absolutely must have a currently exclusive HD-DVD title on Blu ray, then I beg you to wait. Universal and Paramount have already announced they are running back to Blu ray. Don&#8217;t spend almost $500 on a Blu ray burning setup just for converting your HD-DVD collection. Keep watching your HD-DVDs! There&#8217;s isn&#8217;t a rule that you must stop using obsolete technology.</p>
