12 Feb 2009TweetDeck launched a new minor revision today and given all the hype it had yesterday, I was little skeptical. After watching the detailed video on what the new features are, I was most impressed by the little changes than I was the major ones. Here is a video showing my 3 favorite new features:
It all boils down to the little things. If only Adobe Air would solve their memory issues, TweetDeck would be a must have for everyone. I like the client so much that I restart it every other hour to compensate. At any rate, good job @TweetDeck on a finely tuned minor release!

Great video. I'm still very much a user of Twhirl but I can see why TweetDeck has become so popular. What are the other features that might convince someone to convert over to TweetDeck? The zooming and transitions in the video were very nice. What program did you use to accomplish that?

I have to say that TweetDeck just doesn't do it for me. The minor tweaks are nice, but Twhirl will always feel more natural and with the addition of Custom Search, FriendFeed, Identica and cross-posting with Ping.fm – it's the one pushing all the limits. I try to stay open minded, but that's the way the cookies crumbled.

I love that now you can add a person to a group so easily. No more opening & looking for their name.
The hash tag in a reply is also very handy. I seem to always forget that when in a conversation with a group.
I do have some people following me that post in a different language but, from the links & pics – I don't want to know what they were saying. LOL!
TweetDeck just keeps getting better!

Twhirl currently feels like a kludge. Too many windows, too many interfaces, and no coercion. For example, why do you have to post to ping.fm in the Twitter window? The friendfeed experience is difficult to follow and it seems tacked on. Twhirl does Twitter well, but the other stuff just gets in the way

I don't think there are any features in particular that will convince someone to convert over. TweetDeck is a dashboard and offers a different experience than Twhirl. TweetDeck purposely takes over the screen while Twhirl works more in the background. Eh, there's a lot more to this holy war, but I don't think people who like Twhirl should look for a convincing feature to convert them. Either you like it or you don't. I used ScreenFlow for the screencast

I'm a Tweetdeck user too but Thwirl has the multi-user feature and I have 2 accounts one private one business, so i have been using both apps.
