I dont know why this is but I know people with a ps3 and everytime I say xbox live kills psn they bash me for me.

I have ps3 and xbox and they fail to see why I think its great
They say “Well you gotta pay for your online we dont”

Like guys really do you think it matters I rather pay for top notch online play then use psns horrible network that disconnects.
The only thing I use ps3 for is blue ray thats it.

i think the Ps3 online gaming is garbage because i get disconnected for no reason and my ps3 is really really close to my modem

1. Do I care about online gaming? – Yup!
2. Do I care about high definition gaming?-NO. but it should be decent
3. Do I care about high definition movies?- No. DVD is fine.
4. Do I play with friends and family often in person? – Nope
5. Do I want to leverage this console as a music player, video player, and photo viewer? No. Maybe a bit of music. Thats all and sometimes. DVD
6. Do I have wireless internet? I have it , but i can use the cable..
7. Do I want to buy or rent movies from my game console?- No
8. Do I know what bluetooth is and do I own any bluetooth hardware? – Nope.. no what it is though
9. What am I willing to spend after I buy the console?- Just for games. Not too much for them though. And maybe online service for it.
10. Do I want to play my old Xbox/PS2/Nintendo Gamecube games on this new console? – Yes, I have an old xbox and games i haven’t finished. like halo 2
11. What types of games do I like the most? Platformers? Role Playing Games? First person Shooters? Real time strategy? Music Rhythm Games?
- First Person Shooters, Platformers . Action.. Role Playing.. Almost anything. I don’t really like strategy though.

I’m also a semi-casual gamer.

What would you reccomend for me Bwana?

Well as you all can see the PS3 IS MUCH BETTER THAN all of the systems out their we amaricans made the PS3 not the japs they lied im a reaseacher at the japan hoing college and the americans made this system i love the PS3 it would have been called gamebox

Some other things one might want to take into consideration are occupation, future marital status, and procreation.

Occupation
When I was in college, I never bought a console although I considered myself a hardcore gamer. Besides, there was always someone I knew with the latest and greatest console. Why buy one when I could just go over to Johnny's and play?

Marital Status
Prior to my marriage, I was a hardcore gamer, but then I got married. I went from hardcore gamer to a semi-casual online gamer.

Procreation
Then we had kids and now I'm all the way on the other end of the spectrum as a casual gamer.

If you want to have fun with family and friends, Nintendo Wii is the best option to go, I strongly recommend it since I already own one. I know some people who happen to have a PS3 or Xbox360, after spending some time playing with them I'm still pretty convinced that Wii offers more entertainment. Just a thought….

I guess I'm 'hardcore' or whatever, since I have all three of the listed systems. Plus a gaming PC, a PSP, a Nintendo DS, a Dreamcast, and even a Lynx.

Anyway, I've noticed that in the last two years, I initially played a lot of XB360 games… especially Rock Band. All the Guitar Hero accessories work on the XBox, which isn't true for the PS3 platform.

The Wii is usually used for social gaming, I do very little single-player gaming on my Wii. I haven't been suckered in to buying many specialized accessories for my Wii.

However, most recently, any game that has been released simultaneously for the XB360 and PS3, I've been getting on the PS3, for a few reasons: I like the controller more (especially now that there is a DualShock available) and more games are true 1080p, which is suddenly more important to me since I upgraded from a 720p rear-projection TV to a 1080p plasma recently. Also, the PS3 has recently seen a couple of fantastic exclusive releases like GTA3 and LittleBigPlanet that really push the hardware. Finally, a lot of new PS3 games use the hard drive to improve load times. This is a definite advantage of the PS3 platform.

I also use my XB360 to watch HD-DVD movies (I just bought an extra HD-DVD drive for $99 at Fry's just in case the first one fails) and the XB360 platform is fantastic for DivX streaming and Media Center stuff. The PS3 actually perfect for playing regular DVDs, since it does a smashing job upconverting when using a HDMI connection. I also enjoy Blu-Ray movies quite a bit.

The Wii is pretty neglected when it comes to non-gaming media.. it only supports JPGs on SD card media, and they turned off MP3 support in a recent update (BOO).

When it comes to web browsers, Flash and YouTube support, the PS3 is fine and the Wii is actually surprisingly adequate. To be honest I haven't really missed not having a browser on the XB360, I guess since I have a laptop and my TiVo now has YouTube support as well.

I would fit in the Gadget freak category and I think the XBox 360 might be the best choice for me. I hate the XBox controller but what makes me want the XBox above all the rest is the Netflix Streaming and the Media Center extender functionality. Although Blu-ray is a great feature in the PS3, but I don't think it is worth the extra $100 or so, I would rather wait until next year when you will most likely be able to get a Profile 2.0 player for about $100.

The Wii is useless, unless you like waiving your arms around like some kind of insane orchestra conductor while playing games.

The adult questions are definitely valid. Family should definitely be considered in that priority list. I know if I had kids, I'd be on the very very casual end of things.

To each his own. I think the Wii has its strengths, but it appeals to a different kind of crowd. The 360's media capabilities have definitely been elevated by the Netflix integration. Sony doesn't have anything to counter it yet. We'll see what the next year brings.
