Blog Day 2008

First a little background about Blog Day:

What is BlogDay?

BlogDay was created with the belief that bloggers should have one day dedicated to getting to know other bloggers from other countries and areas of interest. On that day Bloggers will recommend other blogs to their blog visitors.
With the goal in mind, on this day every blogger will post a recommendation of 5 new blogs. This way, all blog readers will find themselves leaping around and discovering new, previously unknown blogs.

What will happen on BlogDay?

one long moment on August 31st, bloggers from all over the world will post recommendations of 5 new Blogs, preferably Blogs that are different from their own culture, point of view and attitude. On this day, blog readers will find themselves leaping around and discovering new, unknown Blogs, celebrating the discovery of new people and new bloggers.

Now it’s my task to find 5 new blogs that are interesting to me and post why. So here goes:

davidrisley.com – Blogging has always been a west coast thing as far as the country is concerned, so it was to my pleasant surprise to find a local Floridian who had a decent blog. David is the founder of PCMech.com, but his blog offers wonderful insight in the world of web 2.0 and trends. David represents Florida well at a majority of the tech conferences and does the sunshine state proud.

coolest-gadgets.com – This is Andrew Dobrow’s creation that is a gadget junky’s dream. Not only does he find cool and rare gadgets, but he does it on a consistent basis. I first met Andrew during the Twit-Out on May 21st, 2008 and I got coolest-gadgets.com with the deal.

wealthboy.com – This is the latest project of my old college buddy, Jorge Sierra who just so happens to be local to me as well. Wealthboy is all about finances. I was first introduced to Peer to Peer Lending through wealthboy.com (and Jorge) as well as new ways of saving and making money. Great site to add to your bookmarks.

theleetgeeks.com – The leet geeks was founded by wirelesspacket and 4four1ones (to my knowledge). It’s a brand new dynamic site which delivers a potent view of tech, gaming, social media, and reviews. I watched them build the site from nothing to where it is now. You should definitely check this one out.

Control Point – This is a blog/podcast centered around my favorite PC game, Team Fortress 2. This is a great resource of general discussion around the game as well as commentary on the new updates and patches.

And there you have it, there’s my Fav Five. I’m going to notify each of the authors as soon as this blog post is finished.
