I got my 8GB iPhone for free but still think what Apple did was in bad form. The iPhone hasn't even been updated yet and here they've dropped the 4GB model and cut the price by $200 on the 8GB model... all in 8 WEEKS. That is terrible. Not a good way to treat early adopters. But it's not that Apple reduced the price, as you say, but how soon it happened. It's my belief that Jobs and Apple are going for the kill for this Christmas season and nothing is going to get in the way, so now everything is lined up all nice and pretty. New iPods. I think the ideal price point for a device like this is 250-300, which is probably about cost, but they're making a killing on the service... soo, yeah.
