It Takes a Man to Admit He’s Wrong

Date August 4, 2007

I always respect those who can stand behind their opinion and do it with passion. Even when I disagree with them, I respect their character for standing up for their beliefs. My buddy, Chris Pirillo went on the record to say the iPhone was a bust. Chris used his knowledge and the iPhone specifications to form his opinion and believed strongly that the iPhone wasn’t worth buying. Recently, Ponzi, Chris’ wife, bought an iPhone and expressed positive feelings for it. Chris was still against it to some degree and vowed to stay away from the iPhone.

Until today.

It takes a real man to admit he's wrong

Chris recently expressed 20 reasons why he’s happy with the iPhone:

It’s very imperfect, but I’m still glad that Ponzi provoked the experience. I don’t think I could’ve brought myself to it, otherwise - suffering from the “I’m fine with what I already have” syndrome that many geeks have. I can tell you that it’s much easier to come up with reasons I’m keeping the iPhone than it was thinking of reasons why I didn’t want it on the first day.

It takes a real man to admit he’s wrong. I’m glad Chris tried the iPhone and I’m even more glad that he likes it. Like I’ve said many times before, the iPhone isn’t for everyone, but it truly is a nice piece of hardware. Be sure to check out my iPhone review for my thoughts.
