Yes, they are serious. Blackface in 2006. Sony Music Recording Arists, The Gosperats, are apparently fairly popular in Japan. Here is a video of them performing on YouTube. Blackface is a disgrace and a shameful art in my mind and I frown upon every instance of it. I guess I can’t be too surprised from a country that produced Mr. Popo from Dragonball Z:
