sony psp now supports rss!

29 Nov 2005

i nearly spit out my coffee this morning when i first read it. the newest sony psp firmware (v2.6) now supports rss! not only that, but it supports rss enclosures! this means that the sony psp owners can now enjoy podcasts on their psp with built-in functionality. i definitely think this is a step in the right direction:

-(RSS Channel) has been added as a feature under (Network).
-(Simplified Chinese(gb18030)) and (Traditional Chinese (big 5)) have been added as options to (Encoding) under (View) in the (Internet browser) menu bar.
-Characters may be indistinct in some cases when these encoding options are selected.
-(Volume ajustment) has been aded as a feature to (Location free player).
-You can now download video data that supports copyright protection using the (internet browser).
-WMA had been added as a codec that can be played under (Music)(This applies to music saved on the memory stick).

so if you have a psp and have upgraded, go ahead and subscribe to the braytek podcast!

braytek, psp, rss, podcasts

I’ve updated my psp and its pretty easy to add a channel although it requires you visit the website to do it. For example, to add the braytek podcast, point your psp browser to http://www.braytek.com and look for the “braytek podcast” section on the right side. Point to the cursor to the image that says “podcast mp3″ and hit the X button. It should ask you whether you want to add the rss channel or not. Say yes to this and it should be listed in your rss channels section. Let me know if you still need help
