naruto on cartoon network - sept 10
July 31, 2005

i knew it was coming, but now there’s a naruto webpage up on cartoonnetwork.com. here’s the synopsis given on the page:
Twelve years ago, a nine-tailed fox spirit devastated the Village Hidden in the Leaves. The leader of the ninja village gave his own life to defeat the monster and sealed the evil spirit within a newborn baby. That baby grew up to be Naruto, a mischievous troublemaker struggling to develop his ninja skills. Although his village believes him to be cursed and treats him like an outcast, Naruto has good intentions and dreams of becoming the leader of the ninja village one day.
for those of you out there who haven’t watched the original naruto yet, i beg of you to watch it before watching the cartoon network version. please do not judge this great story by the diluted version cartoon network will release. i’m actually for children watching the watered down version, but i think adults who are interested in it (which is oddly cartoon network’s target audience) should read the manga and watch the original anime. i know i’ll watch the “americanized” version as well and get some enjoyment out of it, but i’ll always love the original.
