i just checked software update and itunes 4.9 popped out. the major feature in this release is itunes’ ability to manage

so far i’m liking the podcast features. it’s really easy to subscribe to podcasts via the itunes music store. so far all the ones i’ve seen have been free. i immediately subscribed to engadget (one of my daily reads) and espn radio podcasts. itunes 4.9 allows uesrs to post their podcasts via the itunes music store.

i haven’t seen anything on apple’s site yet, but i’m sure it’ll be all over the place by the time the west coast wakes up. i wonder how the podcasting software makers will respond to this. i love competition with software because in the end, it only makes the software better.
killer feature: chapters. i’m not sure how people can make their podcasts all compatible with this, but they should. it’s pretty nice:

Bwana: I tried to trackback this post, but could not for some reason. Or perhaps you have to approve it.
Either way, great find on the chapters feature. I didn’t even notice it.

my apologies. I have a feeling it was due to a known bug in wp 1.5. i have upgraded to the latest wp and it should fix it. you can try re-pinging my site and see if it works. gotta love those bookmarks in the podcasts!

We hacked up our WordPress rss2.php file to better support the new tagging in the iTunes store. Noticed you’re on wordpress also and might benefit from it, until something better gets worked out.
Best,
Rob
